Meet Dr. Jamie Royal

Hey there!

Born and raised in West Bloomfield, Michigan, I am a true Midwestern girl in the Big Apple. After many years living in Manhattan, I finally took the plunge to the Westchester suburbs with my husband Chris and our adorable kids (if I do say so myself): Eli, Milly, and Mac. We love staying active and exploring, whether we are trying out a new restaurant, hitting balls on the tennis court, or traveling as a family.  My favorite part of New York City is bumping into friends and family on the street, so make sure you say hello if you see me around town!

One other small detail that you should know about me is that I LOVE orthodontics. Not to geek out on you here, but seriously, I LOVE orthodontics! I am passionate about creating beautiful, bright, healthy smiles, and I genuinely love getting to know the person behind that smile (YOU!). It is so important to me to develop relationships with my patients, their families, and the community as a whole. I want to hear about your latest trip or achievement, so please don’t be surprised if I start asking you questions with my hands in your mouth! The best part about orthodontics is that it allows me to blend my academic and scientific interests with my strong esthetic eye and creativity. If you can’t tell by now, I truly love what I do.

A commitment to EDUCATION

As the daughter of an oral surgeon, dentistry is in my DNA. My family has always stressed the importance of education, and it is no surprise that I take that commitment seriously. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and then went on to attend dental school at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, PA where I received a solid foundation for my orthodontic training.

Throughout dental school, I excelled both academically and clinically, but still found time to enjoy Philadelphia (an AMAZING city which we still visit frequently). Ask me for a restaurant recommendation if you plan to make a trip down to the city of Brotherly Love.

Upon completion of dental school, I moved to Washington, DC, where I completed my orthodontic specialty training at Washington Hospital Center. Training in a hospital-based program, I gained excellent clinical experience in treating a wide range of patients including orthognathic surgical cases, as well as the management of cleft palate patients. I am trained in a number of treatment philosophies, and enjoy exploring new technologies in orthodontics, including Damon® braces, lingual braces, and Invisalign®.

I am dedicated to providing you with quality care, and that is why I travel around the world to continuing education lectures and seminars to stay on the forefront of orthodontic research and technological developments.
